Recently I blogged about my A-Z list in P.E, but now I want to break down some apps and ideas that you can include into your programs. It's amazing when you break this down, how much you can include into your program. But remember, don't include everything, plan your 'skeleton' planner for the year to see what will work for you.

So here is my list of apps and some ideas I have used and still use in my classroom. It is really important to see what works for you, your students and their learning.
It’s about trial and error.
A to Z Reasons on Why Implementing a Quality Physical Education Program Will Benefit Your Students.
As you might know I am very passionate Physical Education teacher. Teaching and guiding your students is one of the most important roles we have.
Physical Education is not ‘time out’ for classroom teachers. Physical Education is not a lesson where students ‘just’ play games and I could go on. However, I have created an A to Z list on ideas and reasons why we as educators have such an important role to play to shape our student’s choices in their lives.
A – Active – Every day we need to encourage our student’s be active, 30 minutes plus a day.
B – Balance Life – Educate our students to have a balance in their life, with school work to play, less screen time and healthy options.
C – Confidence – This is a battle that some students face every day in their lives. We need to make that connection with those students and guide them to feel comfortable in what they want to achieve.
D – Dancing – give your students the option to dance freely and express their movements.
E – Energy – No Moving = No Energy
F – Food – Food choices, educating on the choices we make with our foods and having a good balance.
G – Gymnastics – A lot of educators out there say Gymnastics is probably one of the most important units of teaching we teach for our students.
H – Having a go – Encouraging our students to have a go at all activities and accepting the challenges that they may face.
I – Inclusive – ensuring all students are being included. Making sure students work with other students and learning from them as well.
J – Jogging – Encourage your students to go for walk, jogs or runs every day, at their own pace.
K – Kickboard (swimming equipment) – incorporating a swimming program for students.
L – Language – This is could be barrier for student and teacher professional relationship. How do we communicate with students who have English as a second language? A lot of visual concepts and one on one support is required for those students.
M – Motivation – Like confidence, motivating is something we do every single day with our students. We want them to achieve their personal best. We need to lead by example, if we don’t feel motivated, don’t expect your student’s to feel ‘pumped!’
N – commuNication – yes communication begins with C, however I really wanted to include this, as it is an important skill to include and teach into your program. Communication includes feedback, reflecting, student voice, with parents and whole school communication.
O – It’s ‘OK’ to go ‘out’ – I know I hated going out when I was younger, I felt like I let my team down. We need to educate them that being out is a part of the game.
P – Participation – How do we engaged the disengaged? How do we make sure we get 100% from all students? It all begins with a quality Physical Education program.
Q – The letter Q was a hard one, what about Quiots – A cool activity/game to do part of your target games unit.
R – Respect! I think we all know why respect is important.
S – Safe – Students feeling safe in their learning area is NUMBER 1 for me. If they don’t feel comfortable or safe, students won’t achieve their personal best for that lesson.
T – Team work/Team Building – Yes we begin with team building activities, but don’t hide it during the year, sometimes we need to revisit out team building skills.
U – ‘U’ make a difference – We as teachers MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Well done to all!
V – Values – From the beginning of the year, to reminders during the year about your school values is crucial. It is also important to create your own sporting values with your students to decide.
W – Winning - is not everything. Getting your students to accept results that losing is a part of sport, it’s about how do we react to winning and losing?
X – Xtreme Sports – Would you include any of these sports into your program?
Y – Yoga – Alongside with meditation, is just as critical to teach to our students – Ask @mr_d_pe about various ways of meditations.
Z – Zone – when teaching your invasion games – including what a zone is and how to play a zone defence.
My list might be a bit different to your A to Z list, but I reckon we would be on the same track.
